On April 29, 2023, in Saint Petersburg the third round of the 5th season of the United Continental 3×3 Basketball League was completed. This is an international project that brings together the best teams from friendly countries to enhance their professional level, offers the opportunity of competitiveness, and popularizes 3x3 basketball.
Our region was represented by Bionord team supported by Ural Plant of Deicing Materials. Perm basketball players decisively rolled up victories, but in the decisive match they lost one point to St. Petersburg TsOP BAD BOYS team and took silver of the Championship. BionordPro’s Andrei Kiselev was recognized the best UCL 2023 forwarder.
“We are satisfied with what we have done, and the event was organized at the highest level. Before that, we had not played for almost 1.5 months, since our victory at Red Square Cup in Moscow. Of course, we set ourselves up for the 1st place, but this championship, of course, can be added to our experience in the framework of preparing for the Russian 3x3 Basketball Championship. Sergey Shirokov, a basketball player from the Bionord team, helped us a lot; the experience of participating in the UCL is invaluable for Vladislav Perevalov, who recently started playing this type of basketball. Our spirit is competitive and we are diligently preparing for matches of the Master Tandem of the Russian 3x3 Championship which is going to be held in Magnitogorsk on May 11 and May 12,” Aleksei Zherdev, the coach, shared his impressions.
