Megasport Sports Palace, a state-funded institution of Moscow, purchased 36 tonnes of Bionord Universal multi-component agent to remove ice in the winter of 2023/2024. The institution includes A.V. Tarasov Megasport Sports Palace, Moscow Rowing Canal, Moscow Rowing Canal Swimming Pool, Basket Hall Moscow Arena, Moscow Golf Centre, and Pirs Hotel, as well as one of the largest ice arenas in the world — Krylatskoye Ice Palace — which can accommodate 7,200 people. This winter, innovative products manufactured by Ural Plant of Deicing Materials (UZPM), which has its production site in Krasnokamsk, Perm Krai, have been used at sports facilities of Megasport Sports Palace for the first time.
Sports organizations in Moscow need UZPM deicing agents. MosSportObject GBU (state-funded institution), which includes 93 facilities having more than 150,000 regular customers, has been using deicing materials manufactured by UZPM for several years now and has purchased 320 tonnes of Bionord Universal for winter maintenance of the territories of its facilities, thus providing access to 96 sports for professionals and amateurs.
“First of all, sport means health; therefore, Bionord Universal multi-component deicing materials are best suited for getting rid of slipperiness in winter season in sports facilities. Unlike conventional sand and salt mixtures, Bionord deicing materials are completely soluble, do not clog and do not contaminate the soil and, more to the point, and do not lead to dust storms in spring when the sand dries out and turns into dust which, when it gets into your lungs, provokes inflammation and shortness of breath. UZPM is the first company in Russia which received GOST R 58427-2020 certificates for all its deicing materials. Our agents passed the environmental impact assessment made by Rosprirodnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources) and passed a comprehensive assessment of impact on the environment and health,” Evgeniy Nemirovsky, Adviser to the General Director for Development of UZPM, noticed. “In addition to this, as opposed to deicing salts efficient at –12 °C to –15 °C, or as opposed to sand and to sand and salt mixtures which are hardly efficient even at –7 °C to –10 °C, Bionord Universal perfectly works at –30 °C, thus preventing falls and injuries that can cause physical disability to people for a long time. Avoiding injuries is even more important for results-driven sportsmen.
