Doreks, a road maintenance company responsible for the maintenance of roads, pavements, and bridges in the city of Cheboksary, is switching to winter mode of operation already in October. The company is to ensure trouble-free and safe movement of vehicles and people on the area equal to 4.5 million square meters.
To do this, a twenty-four hour service availability of special vehicles, staff, and persons responsible for the preparation of vehicles is going to be ensured. As of today, special vehicles in the amount of 81 units have been allocated to different districts and a plan for twenty-four hour availability of staff has been prepared. If necessary, special vehicles of third party organizations may be used. Itineraries of work performance have been approved including such in case of emergency.
In order to cope with ice and icy roads and pavements, the deicing materials, including more than 1000 tonnes of Bionord agent have been prepared. To perform cleaning of the city roads and treat them with agents during heavy snowfalls in a very short time, convoys of special vehicles are to work being accompanied by GIBDD (State Road Safety Inspectorate) cars.
The issue of the disposal of snow from the city territories in Cheboksary is dealt with step by step. In 2022, VULCAN-60M snow melting machine has been put into operation. The machine capacity is 45-60 cubic meters of snow per hour. In total in four months of 2022, the machine disposed 47.9 thousand cubic meters of snow, i.e. 18.2 thousand tonnes of snow.
