November the 14th is the World Quality Day, the goal of which is to enhance the significance of the high quality of products and services.
Ural Plant of Deicing Materials (UZPM) is an industry leader and the largest Russian manufacturer of modern deicing products. For over 17 years, the company together with research institutions has been developing and improving deicing compositions so that they meet the highest industry standards and the customer requirements.
“The deicing materials that we produce should not just cope with snow masses and ice, but they should also be environmentally safe, should not emit any harmful substances into the air as it may cause allergic reactions, should not damage soil and city infrastructure. Traditional materials based on road salt do not achieve this goal as they penetrate the soil and damage its structure. In the conditions of more stringent environmental requirements to the quality of the produced deicing materials, the products shall comply with the national standard GOST R 58427-2020", Tatyana Goncharova, Head of Technical Control Department, explains.
The plant produces Bionord – a highly effective and environmentally safe deicing multicomponent agent based on a complex of natural salts with biophilic elements and corrosion inhibitors. The deicing material has been tested in road, leather and footwear, medical, veterinary, agricultural institutions and holds a safety certificate, a positive opinion of the State Environmental Expertise, and the Opinion on the classification of the material as hazard class 4 (low hazard).
“In addition to the research conducted by the institutes, the quality control shall be performed at each stage – from the deicing material manufacturing at the plant, including checking for compliance with the regulatory documentation, to the products shipment to the Customer. At the first stage, the incoming inspection of raw materials and functional additives for compliance with the Supplier’s requirements according to the technological regulations is performed, and the deicing material of a certain grade is produced. The next stage is the technological control during the production process, which takes into account such important parameters as temperature, pressure, time, etc. Then, the finished products are sampled according to the requirements of the regulatory documents. The samples are tested in an accredited laboratory as confirmed by a quality protocol, certificate of compliance and the issues of a quality certificate to the shipped products”, Tatyana Goncharova notes.
The quality of the products is the most important indicator for the enterprise. The plant has in place high-precision German equipment, but despite that, each batch of deicing materials is subject to compulsory inspection.
“In cooperation with a scientific centre, we are working to make our product compliant with the strictest requirements of GOST and corporate standards, ensuring its highest quality”, Tatyana Goncharova says.
UZPM products are included into the hundred best products of Russia and holds the “Quality Star”.
