On October 15-17, the 11th International Specialized Exhibition “Road 2024” was held in Yekaterinburg at the Yekaterinburg-EXPO exhibition centre. Ural Plant of Deicing Materials (UZPM), an industry leader and the largest Perm-based producer of modern deicing materials, has participated in the event yet again.
The Company presented to the exhibition guests a line of Bionord deicing materials – the state-of-the-art solutions for winter and off-season maintenance of roads and city infrastructural facilities, the use of which can transform a city’s outlook. The materials are safer and much more effective than the conventional salt and sand mixtures used in Russia.
The products presented by UZPM are manufactured in strict compliance with the Russian national standard GOST R 58427-2020 “Deicing Materials for Use on the Territory of Settlements. General Specifications”. According to Rudolf Ponomarev, UZPM Deputy Sales Director, their products have always been distinguished by high quality, and with the introduction of new requirements, the materials’ compositions have been further improved.
“GOST has tightened the requirements to the corrosion component. The materials must have minimal corrosive effect on both city infrastructural facilities and on the shoes. Besides, the material has to pass the state environmental expert evaluation at the federal level according to the requirements of the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources (Rosprirodnadzor). We have, of course, passed this expert evaluation. The materials shall be of the third or fourth class of hazard. Our materials are of the fourth class, which means that they are safer than the traditional road salt. We are constantly improving the compositions of our products.
It should be noted that Bionord Two-Phase is used in the federal highways and in Yekaterinburg city streets. It is a highly effective deicing material developed for the maintenance of city areas during the cold season. It is characterized by accelerated effect and allows saving money and resources spent on street and road cleaning during winters. Bionord Sidewalks is used in the walking areas. The material is based on marble chips and calcium, which do not damage the shoes and are safe for both people and animals.
UZPM products have proven themselves well in the streets of the Ural cities and on intercity highways, where they have been used for about 15 years.
