From June 4 to 7, the 32nd International Specialized Exhibition of Mining Technologies “Russian Coal and Mining” was held in Novokuznetsk. It is the largest Russian project for all the ore-mining enterprises and a unique venue for the demonstration of the latest technologies, which opens up new cooperation opportunities for foreign and Russian companies.

This year, the event broke record by the number of exhibitors and visitors. In addition to the Russian enterprises, the event in Novokuznetsk welcomed delegates from China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkey, India, and RSA. For many of the foreign and Russian companies, including Ural Plant of Deicing Materials, it was not their first time.

“In warm weather, the dusting problem becomes relevant for many Russian regions due to fighting winter icing with sand and sand-based mixes. However, in Kuzbass, surrounded by coal pits, and other mining regions, the environmental situation is especially difficult because of coal and sand dust buildup as a result of operation of mining and processing plants, crushing and screening complexes and the transportation of dust-forming cargoes via haul roads. The dust rises into the air and covers the neighbouring settlements. At the exhibition “Russian Coal and Mining”, we present again an effective solution for dust-suppression and freezing up,” Rashid Emelkhanov, UZPM Project Manager, says. “The principle of Bionord Antidust and Bionord Quarries, developed on its basis, consists in binding small dust particles into larger ones, which are prevented by the material composition from rising into the air and causing dust storms.”

It is not uncommon for the mining complexes to stop their operations and wait for large amounts of dust in the air to settle as it has an extremely negative impact on the equipment moving parts. UZPM’s anti-dust solutions allow cutting back significantly the equipment maintenance costs and improving environmental safety at the ore-mining enterprises, minimizing their environmental load, while creating favourable working conditions for the employees.”
