Preparations for the winter season continue in Perm.
According to the road maintenance service, 80% of specialized vehicles have been reequipped for winter operation, while the remaining 20% perform routine summer and spring maintenance.
The total area of serviced roads and neighbourhood driveways exceeds 4.2 million square metres.
In anticipation of forthcoming efforts to fight ice in the city streets, 6.8 thousand tons of Bionord agent have been stocked. The material is produced by Ural Plant of Deicing Materials (UZPM).
As opposed to traditionally used salt and sand mixtures, Bionord is completely soluble and does not clog the storm drains; it does not damage the lawns due to biophilic additives in its formulation and does not cause soil salinization; it is completely safe for use in the cities in different temperature conditions.
Besides, UZPM ensures strict compliance of its products with the Russian national standard GOST R 58427-2020 “Deicing Materials for Use on the Territory of Settlements. General Specifications.” The environmental friendliness of Bionord is confirmed by the positive opinion of the State Environmental Expertise and the opinion that the material belongs to hazard class 4 (low hazard). This means that it is safer than the salt and sand mixtures.
Today, Bionord is recognized as one of the most effective materials and has proven itself well in the streets of the Ural cities where it has been used for over 15 years.
