Representatives of Ural Plant of Deicing Materials took part in Environment and Technologies VII specialized exhibition held in Ufa on April 12-14. In the Public Space Maintenance and Management section UZPM presented their products and offered efficient and safe solutions to remove snow and ice in cold season, as well as to reduce dust in the air and on the roads in spring.
The Republic of Bashkortostan belongs to snow zone 5 of Russia, and deicing is very important in such heavy snow load regions. Currently, in Bashkortostan, deicing materials meeting GOST are purchased; most cities are switching to such materials. Last autumn, UZPM signed municipal contracts with the administration of Ufa for the supply of two types of Bionord: Bionord Universal, a solid material for roads, and Bionord Pavements, a combined material for pedestrian zones.
Rudolf Ponomarev, Deputy Commercial Director of Ural Plant of Deicing Materials Trading House:
“According to our estimations we suppose that, if the entire city, or at least a larger part of it, is going to be switched to using deicing materials, Ufa actually purchases approximately a quarter of the amount needed for full-scale deicing. This problem can be seen in Bashkortostan, as well as in other regions: only the main streets and highways are deiced with deicing materials, since cities have limited budget and resources. Probably, there is no road worker or local administration specialist who would not like to see their city maintained with the use of modern machinery and advanced materials. That is why, after the use of deicing agents in the central part of the city, the procurement of materials usually increases, and the area of their use gradually expands.”
In addition to this, Ufa is planning to purchase of Bionord Shampoo; the shampoo is used for cleaning the city infrastructure, roads, enclosures, public transport stops, etc.
“The innovative development of the last year — Bionord Antidust — is not used in Ufa yet, but it is already supplied to some regions of the North Caucasus and Siberia, where the dust problem is very acute. We would be glad if the municipal authorities of Ufa consider the use of Bionord Antidust in the territory of the city, since Bashkortostan as a whole is located close to steppe zones,” Rudolf Ponomarev commented.
