Novosibirsk-based companies have already began requesting quotes for Bionord deicing solution from long-standing suppliers in view of preparation for the winter season. Municipal services purchased around 5,000 tons of the solution for the season 2023-2024; however, they are not the only ones in Novosibirsk to use Bionord, the only agent in Russia that holds all the certificates of compliance with the national standards.
Anti-slippery solutions for the winter are purchased not only by road services, but also by other companies, including commercial ones, to be used at their premises.
The Novosibirsk purchasers of Bionord include over 100 companies, both private and municipal. About half of those organizations are property managing companies and homeowners’ associations. Bionord is used by hospitals and shopping malls, construction and transportation companies, educational and cultural organizations. According to Elena Baguto, the Development Director of Stroyding Trading House, LLC (the agent’s official distributor in Novosibirsk), no complaints have been received in seven years in respect of Bionord.
“What is important, we always explain to the customers the culture of using deicing solutions. We tell them that they cannot just spread Bionord – in an hour the fluffed up mass needs to be removed, we also tell them that the melting snow with the agent will not damage the lawn. Bionord does not clog the drainage system and requires less amount of solution as compared to others; its main advantage over salt-sand mix is the effectiveness at the temperatures below –15°C, where salt-sand mix cannot perform,” Elena Baguto notes.
According to UZPM Trading House, commercial companies, local councils, and homeowners’ associations usually buy combined solutions Bionord Green and Bionord Pro Plus to fight ice. The Novosibirsk purchasers know that those materials are certified, hold the security certificates issued by Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare) and have passed environmental due diligence of Rosprirodnadzor (Federal Service for the Oversight of Natural Resources Use).
“In winter, we use Bionord on a daily basis on the sidewalks around the biotechnopark building, car parks and all the adjacent territory”, Evgenia Gutova, the Head of Procurement Department of the Biotechnopark Managing Company JSC, comments. “Initially, we were looking for the most environment-friendly agents as we have a lot of plants. We made our choice three years ago, and have been using the solution since.”
“We have been using Bionord for about six years on the area of around 2,500 sq. m. We started with salt-sand mix, but it was ineffective. We also bought other reagents, but were facing problems – dogs had their feet burnt, buildings’ entrances were dirty. Now, there’s no ice, the shoes are clean, and everybody is happy”, Vitalii Mukhin, the manager of “18, Shamshinykh” Homeowners’ Association, says.
According to Dmitriy Zainchkovsky, Sales Director of UZPM Trading House, the winter season 2023-2024 featured an increase of almost 30% in the purchases of different kinds of Bionord via distributors. Retail sales in chain stores also went up, with UZPM products accounting for over 40% of deicing materials on the shelves.
“In my opinion, the growth in purchases of modern deicing materials by private persons is evolutionary in its nature,” Dmitriy Zainchkovsky notes. “Owing to economic, social and cultural factors, people pay more attention to their contribution to environment protection, comfort and safety of their surroundings.”
