The Ural Plant of Deicing Materials (UZPM), a leading Russian manufacturer of modern winter and off-season road maintenance products under the Bionord brand, took part in the 30th International Exhibition MiningWorld Russia. The anniversary forum took place in Moscow and brought together over 500 participants, including major manufacturers of specialized machinery and equipment for the mining industry.
At the UZPM’s interactive stand, the company’s specialists presented the latest developments: Bionord Quarry and Bionord Antidust, designed specifically to address the current challenges of the mining and processing industries.
"One of the major problems faced today by the developers of coal, ore, and other bulk minerals is material freezing. Because moisture crystallizes between the rock particles, the raw material becomes a single monolithic block, requiring additional effort to unload it. To solve this problem, UZPM has developed a special product called Bionord Quarry, UZPM representatives commented.
Bionord Quarry covers the rock particles with a thin, elastic film, allowing them to retain their flowability at low temperatures down to –40°C, thereby preventing freezing and ensuring uninterrupted technological processes.
Bionord Antidust, in turn, helps solve the second issue of open-pit mines, which is dust pollution. The compound agglomerates the dust, forming a wind-resistant coating on the surface that prevents harmful suspended matter from getting into the air.
Combined use of Bionord Quarry and Bionord Antidust helps maintain a stable production cycle, improves operational safety, and reduces the environmental impact. High effectiveness of these materials is proven by the results of industrial trials and in real operating conditions in the regions with extremely low temperatures, high production loads, and strict environmental requirements. The products are successfully used at major open-pit coal mines and metal mining enterprises from the Ural Mountains to Zabaykalsky Krai and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
