On May 13, 2023, on the Palta River a new season of Clean Games started being supported by Ural Plant of Deicing Materials.
Clean Games social movement appeared in 2014 in Saint Petersburg as a small group of environmental activists. Over 9 years Clean Games have developed to embrace the entire Russian territory, and, as of December 2020, the movement had regional coordinating officers in 263 cities of Russia. Since the first days of the project existence over 60 000 people have participated in it and over 2 000 tonnes of waste have been collected.
In Krasnokamsk Clean Games have been annually held since 2019. The Territory of Success local community support fund acts as an organizer of the event. On the Palta River bank 13 teams, 3-4 persons each, for an hour competed in separate waste collection. For the second time Ural Plant of Deicing Materials has supported the event; 3 teams of UZPM employees were registered at a time for May competitions. Over 2.5 tonnes of wastes were collected with the active participation of UZPM employees.
“Initiatives, such as Clean Games, involve residents in creating more comfortable living environment and contribute to the formation of a conscious attitude to resources of our planet, to the nature and the environment, and promote the growth of environmental consciousness. Family teams took part in the Spring Cup of Clean Games and in the last weekend's games along with all other participants, i.e. children easily learned about separate waste collection and the importance of a responsible attitude to the place where they were born, live and study. It is a pleasure that among concerned citizens ready to dedicate a day off to caring for the environment, there were also employees of our Plant,” Dmitriy Pylev, CEO of UZPM, shared his opinion about the event. “Until the end of the year, Krasnokamsk residents will still have the opportunity to join the volunteers, clean up the territory around them or on the river bank, and become a part of the Clean Games movement.”
