The Ural Plant of Deicing Materials (UZPM), a leading Russian manufacturer of modern deicing agents under the brand name “Bionord”, continues its long-standing tradition of supporting cultural initiatives in the Perm region. This year, the company acted as a Gala Sponsor of the Theatre Landscape Festival “Secrets of Mount Krestovaya”, which was held in the city of Gubakha and attracted more than 8,000 spectators.
The festival's uniqueness lies in its organic combination of theatrical art and the natural landscapes of the Western Urals. Performances take place on the slopes of Mount Krestovaya, amidst the architectural monuments of the abandoned town of Verkhnyaya Gubakha, and in the settings created for the filming of the movie "The Heart of Parma." This combination of exceptional locations, a high-quality program, and consistent business support has elevated the festival to a national-level event, drawing over 120,000 visitors in the past eleven years.
"Our support for this festival exemplifies how businesses can drive regional development," stated Dmitry Pylev, General Director of UZPM. "This project is a testament to the synergy between the region's industrial enterprises. The partnership between UZPM and Metafrax Group is a prime example of effective business collaboration, where pooled resources enable the realization of ambitious initiatives. When we started our collaboration, it was a bold experiment to create a unique outdoor theater venue in the picturesque mountain landscapes. Today, Gubakha has become a magnet for contemporary art enthusiasts from all over the country. Today, Gubakha has become a magnet for contemporary art enthusiasts from across the country. We are proud that our support contributes to developing the rich potential of the Perm region and establishing new cultural tourism hubs in the Urals," stated Dmitry Pylev, UZPM General Director.
The XIV Festival featured the premiere of the musical "The Bremen Town Musicians," performed by the Moscow Academic Mossovet Theatre. Director Evgeny Marchelli skillfully adapted this classic production for the natural stage, leveraging the landscape's features to create a truly unique theatrical experience.
Traditionally, the festival becomes a meeting place for the large team of UZPM. This year, more than 150 employees of the enterprise, along with their family members, climbed Mount Krestovaya to enjoy the theatrical performance and spend their day off in an informal setting. The company organized special transportation for labor veterans and representatives of public organizations in the Krasnokamsky and Perm districts, ensuring a comfortable trip to the festival.
In addition to the main theatrical events, the UZPM prepared a rich interactive program for the festival's guests. A themed photo zone was set up on the premises, where everyone could take memorable photos against the backdrop of picturesque landscapes. A creative workshop was organized for the young participants of the festival to create a collective art object called "Connecting Cities." This artwork symbolizes the main mission of the enterprise, which is to ensure road safety and reliable transportation links between Russian cities during the winter season.
The white yeti Aisman, a living mascot of the Binord brand, has been delighting children and adults with his appearance at the festival for many years. This year, the furry hero not only took photos with guests, but also participated in theatrical activities, creating an atmosphere of good magic.
