The Ural Plant of Deicing Materials (UZPM), a leading Russian manufacturer of modern anti-ice products under the Bionord brand, has become one of the top 5 enterprises in the Perm region to achieve the highest scores in the national EPS-rating.
The EPS-rating (‘Environment. Personnel. State’) is compiled based on the national standard GOST R 71198-2023, adopted in February 2024 to assess the business reputation of Russian enterprises. The rating analyses three main areas of companies’ activity: environmental responsibility, human resources and social policy, financial stability and corporate governance quality.
UZPM has been operating in the deicing materials market for more than eighteen years. Its main production facility is located in Krasnokamsk, where the plant ranks among the city’s largest employers. Over years of operation, labour dynasties have flourished at the enterprise, with several generations of the same family choosing to work at the plant. Cooperation with technical colleges and higher education institutions in Perm Krai is actively growing, and a mentorship system is in place to train young specialists.
The Bionord deicing materials manufactured by the plant are now supplied to more than fifty regions across Russia. The formulations are developed in cooperation with scientific research institutes to create formulas tailored for various climatic conditions. All materials satisfy environmental safety requirements. They cause no harm to soil or green spaces and are entirely safe for animals. The plant’s products are on the ‘100 Best Goods of Russia’ registry and the list among the country’s top ESG projects.
The enterprise consistently supports cultural, sports, and environmental initiatives of Perm Krai. In 2024, UZPM became the title partner of the Winter Sports Festival, which featured the Bionord Skating Rink that was visited by over 35,000 visitors. The plant also supported the Veloprityazhenie cycling marathon, the all-Russian badminton competitions for athletes with health limitations, the ‘Two Crows’ environmental festival, and the ‘Secrets of Mount Krestovaya’ theatrical landscape festival.
