The Ural Plant of Deicing Materials (UZPM), a leading Russian manufacturer of modern anti-ice products under the Bionord brand, took part in the international exhibition RES 2026 EXPO in the capital of Kazakhstan. The event was held as part of the Central Asia Regional Environmental Summit (RES-2026) and was dedicated to discussing sustainable development and the implementation of green technologies in the region. The exhibition brought together over 300 companies from 30 countries and more than 20,000 visitors.
UZPM’s products were featured as part of a joint exhibition representing key manufacturers of Perm Krai, which won the ‘Most Memorable Stand’ award. The plant presented two main categories of products: Bionord deicing materials and Bionord Antidust dust suppression compounds.
UZPM products are manufactured based on the ‘Three Es’ principle: efficiency, eco-friendliness, and economy. The Bionord Antidust dust suppression compound binds fine solid fraction particles, forming a durable, wind-resistant film on the surface. The duration of its dust suppression effect is dozens of times longer than that of ordinary water. The product has no negative impact on the environment and is in high demand in heavily dusted metropolitan areas and industrial quarries.
The application of the compound significantly improves the environmental situation, minimizing the impact of dust on human health and improving air quality in the urban environment. At the same time, Bionord Antidust improves the efficiency of the production cycle: test results confirm a reduction in equipment repair costs, a reduction in raw material losses, and lower transshipment expenses. The use of the product not only increases the speed and volume of product processing but also ensures favourable working conditions, reducing the environmental load on adjacent territories. The product has passed all the necessary checks and holds a complete package of permit documentation.
Bionord deicing materials ensure rapid ice melting across a wide temperature range, possess low corrosion activity, and do not have a negative impact on various types of pavements. Among other advantages are an economical consumption rate, virtually complete solubility, as well as safety for the soil: the constituent components prevent the accumulation of sodium chloride, thereby reducing the level of soil salinization.
The high environmental standards of UZPM products are confirmed at the federal level: Bionord is a laureate of the ‘Best ESG Projects of Russia – 2025’ award. The effectiveness of using advanced materials is confirmed by comparative calculations in real operating conditions. For instance, treating a 40-kilometer section of a road requires just a single unit of specialized machinery, two hours of operation, and 24 litres of fuel, whereas applying a traditional sand-salt mix on an identical stretch involves at least six vehicles, a full working day, and 135 litres of fuel. A smaller fleet and reduced application time help lower emissions of nitrogen oxides, whose greenhouse effect, according to the World Meteorological Organization, is nearly 300 times greater than that of CO₂ equivalent. Calculations show that the use of Bionord reduces these emissions up to six times.
The use of UZPM compounds also has a positive effect on the cities’ look: the absence of mud and dust reduces the frequency of cleaning building facades, windows, and road surfaces, while the gentle impact on metals and concrete extends the service life of vehicles and amenities.
UZPM’s products attracted high interest among the guests of the stand, with exhibition visitors noting a unique combination of high effectiveness and environmental safety of the presented solutions:
“Participating in the RES 2026 EXPO exhibition is an important step in developing our partnership with the CIS countries. We already have successful track record of deliveries to the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan for both the private and public sectors. We offer more than just deicing agents and dust suppression products: we provide a comprehensive winter and off-season cleaning technology that allows cities to remain clean and safe for people, animals, and infrastructure,” noted Rudolf Ponomarev, Deputy Director for Wholesale Sales of UZPM Trading House.
Today, the company’s products are used at key facilities across more than 50 Russian regions and in the CIS countries at major mineral resources fields, akimats (local municipal administrations), and private households. Their high quality is confirmed by diplomas “100 Best Goods of the Russian Federation”, the “Quality Star” mark, and positive feedback from the road authorities of major cities.
