Ural Plant of Deicing Materials LLC (UZPM LLC) is completing the implementation of the biggest investment projects in the history of the Company in order to broaden the product range of deicing agents. The total cost of the projects exceeds 2.5 billion rubles and includes the construction of new production facilities within the site of UZPM in Perm Krai and the creation of 55 high performance workplaces. The projects started in 2018 and their implementation has been going on with the support of federal and regional Industrial Development Funds.
In the framework of “Glatt. Deicing Materials for Aviation” project a fully automated line to manufacture high performance chloride-free deicing materials for airports is going to be built. As of today, Glatt production unit has been installed, and start-up and adjustment work is in progress being performed by German specialists provided by the equipment manufacturer. The advanced equipment package fully meets requirements concerning the output capacity and environmental friendliness and is designed to ensure the performance of the main production programme of the Company as well: single granule deicing material. The Company is going to have the first results of the production unit operation at the end of 2021.
The second investment project is “Ebner”; it envisages one more large-scale automated line to ensure uninterruptible supply of production facilities of the main site with necessary components needed to manufacture deicing materials and products for the petroleum industry. This will significantly enhance the end product quality and shorten the production cycle by several times. It is planned that a part of products is going to be exported to the CIS and the European Union.
The implementation of a fully closed loop manufacturing line will allow the Company to increase the main product output volume by 30%, and, as compared to the current production capacity, to double it. Among the products intended for export, such as magnesium hydroxide, the annual volume is expected to be over 6.5 thousand tonnes.
Dmitry Pylev, General Director of Ural Plant of Deicing Materials LLC:
- The main stages of the large-scale project implementation have coincided with the pandemic; therefore, there are some difficulties associated with the delivery schedule of the main imported equipment and with the performance of construction and installation work where foreign companies participate. Today we are about to finish and this winter we are going to be ready to increase the volume of manufactured deicing materials for the road industry and meet the demand for innovative agents in the aviation industry and petroleum industry. Launching new manufacturing facilities employing the best available process technologies and creating modern high performance workplaces will contribute to the development of Perm Krai economy.
