From June 7 to 8, the fourth ecological festival “Urban Nature” was held in Perm. It aims to involve the citizens of Perm in resolving the current issues of metropolitan environment. As a part of the discussion about the role of industrial enterprises in ensuring the city’s sustainable development, Rudolf Ponomarev, Deputy Director of UZPM Trading House, made a report “Contribution of Ural Plant of Deicing Materials to the City’s Sustainable Development.”
“Our plant’s produce does not just meet the community’s need for comfortable living conditions in the cities, but satisfies the demand for environment preservation. The results of joint research of UZPM Research and Development Centre and Research and Development Centre of Household Chemicals show that the use of modern deicing materials Bionord for road cleaning reduces the soils salinity levels. Besides, the use of our product allows reducing nitrogen oxide emissions up to 6 times, thus reducing the carbon footprint,” Rudolf Ponomarev notes.
The company does not only produce environment-friendly agents, but also cares for the well-being of its employees. The company implements social programs, holds sports events; the plant employees are provided with an opportunity to receive necessary training, advance their education through courses and trainings.
Besides, for many years the plant has supported the initiatives and projects on comfortable environment development in Perm Krai. The company received a Letter of Acknowledged from the city executive for the contribution to environmental awareness and active participation in the organization of environmental safety events.
The company’s activity is based on sustainable development principles ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance). In 2023, the company’s products received the award “Russia’s Best ESG Projects”.
